‘Switch OFF’ Your Cell Phone for 12 Hours on June 10, 2010

Almost 90 million people are using cell phones in Pakistan. We pay billions of rupees in shape of prepaid and post paid connections utilization. As the call and sms rates are decreasing in competition the government is increasing its tax rate to recover more money than before.

Now we have to pay 15% on card recharge and more than 16% is the tax on each call. Almost 33% goes to government unjustified as its not the product of the government.

It is therefore requested to all cell phone users to switch off their cells for only 12 hours from 9 am to 9 pm on June 10, 2010.
