Make Choice : Taliban or No Taliban

By Mohsin Sehgal

Just 3500 Taliban are present in the Swat. Just that many. Very few of them are local. Many have come from Afghanistan, Dir, Bajaur and heavy majority belongs to the Punjab, especially Southern Punjab who joined Swati Taliban after the cleric of Lal Masjid was killed in the Lal Masjid, who belonged to Souther Punjab.

These few Taliban have conquered Swat and they intend to move forward. They have already cast their shadows in the Chitral, Mardan, Buner and Swabi.

In these very tough times, what we need today is brave and clear leadership, with a vision and a plan as to how to work towards that vision. A leadership which has its priorities clear and steadfast. Current leadership is not up to the mark and we need to find someone worthy of himself to lead us. For if we fail to find that leadership, there is an alternative one whose objective and ambitions are clear and which is purposely marching towards us with plan in hand.

Hardcore militants have made their plans exposed and they intend to follow them with will. They do not believe in the democratic process, the current system and by all means they seek not our vote but our complete surrender. We have got our choices clear and now we must be honest to make one.
